Cut (stroke)An attacking shot played with a horizontal bat, and if correctly timed, the ball will go square (i.e at right-angles) of the wicket towards point or slightly in-front towards cover-point. A variant of this is the late cut, often played to slower bowlers, when the ball travels behind square towards backward point or wide third man. |
