Statistician of the Year 1987 – Philip Bailey

The second Statistician of the Year award was made to Philip Bailey, the new Editor of The Cricket Statistician, whom the Chairman, Tony Woodhouse, described as the quiet man of the ACS Committee. He said that Mr Bailey undoubtedly was the finest brain engaged at present on cricket statistics and his work over many years was well known to all members.

Mr Bailey made a brief but appropriate response.
