The Cricket Witness series, launched in 2017, aims to explore a number of important themes in cricket history, largely through primary and secondary sources.
The first few volumes have covered a diverse range of topics including the social status of players from 1846 to 1962, cricket during the Crimean War, the rise of Glamorgan CCC to their first County Championship in 1948, and women’s cricket in inter-war England.
